WBASNY Testifies Regarding Judicial Selection for the Court of Appeals
secretary | May 29, 2009The Senate Judiciary Committee is holding statewide hearings to determine how to better represent minorities on the bench, after Governor David A. Paterson complained that no women were recommended to him to fill the vacancy on the Court of Appeals. Karen Richardson, treasure of WBASNY spoke at the County Hall on May 21, 2009: “The Court of Appeals nomination process must be reviewed to make sure women and minorities are included. Candidates recommended for the Court of Appeals are not representative of the many qualified candidates there are for that position.”
